Türkiye just posted its lowest inflation reading in 57 months.

TurkStat reported September annual CPI at 29.73%, down from 31.51% in August, the first sub-30% print since November 2021. Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek called it broad-based disinflation, with transportation the only holdout category. The central bank has held its policy rate at 37% since June, and this reading reopens the door to a cut at the October 22 meeting.

For North American companies watching Türkiye, this is a timing signal more than a headline. A few things worth testing before you move:

Pricing durability: if the CBRT cuts and the lira softens further, is your landed cost model built around a single exchange rate assumption, or a range?

Contract timing: distributors and retail partners often renegotiate terms around rate decisions. Are you entering a contract cycle or mid-cycle?

Consumer purchasing power: disinflation doesn't mean prices are falling, it means they're rising more slowly. Category-level demand still depends on real wage recovery.

We've found that the gap between headline macro news and what it actually means for a specific category or price point is where most entry mistakes happen.

What's your read: does a slower, steadier CBRT cutting cycle make Türkiye more or less predictable for a 2027 launch?
